Our main event on March 24th is a re-match the Universe asked for, and we are the only ones to give it to them!
GPW homegrown star, Sam Gradwell is currently signed to a WWE contract and recently appeared in the WWE’s 2 Night UK Championship Tournament. His route to the final however was cut short by his March 24th opponent and eventual finalist, Pete Dunne. It was Dunne who viciously attacked Gradwell at the end of Night 1 which caused Sam to carry a serious back injury into Night 2 where he met Dunne in the Quarter Finals.
Gradwell blames Dunne for ruining his chances of winning the inaugural tournament, which was held in his home town of Blackpool. Dunne has shown no remorse in what took place, claiming he was “making an impact”. If he hadn’t of attacked Sam, how far could Sam have gone in the tournament? Could he have won? Sam believes he would and demands revenge against Dunne. After beating Bubblegum at February’s Back With A Bang, Sam took the mic and issued the challenge to Dunne who accepted and will return to GPW after defeating Travis Banks in August last year.
Will it be redemption for Sam? Or will history repeat itself and Pete Dunne will leave the winner again? Re-matches don’t come bigger than this, it’s Sam Gradwell v. Pete Dunne II
It’s The Monster v. The Opera when Cyanide takes on “Magnificent” Matt Brooka
“Magnificent” Matt Brooks returns to the ring to take on the monster and former Heavyweight Champion, Cyanide. Brooks has been working on some new entrance material and fulfilling operatic dates in Rome and Sydney, but what a challenge to return to! To face 26 stone Cyanide on any day is not recommended, but this Cyanide is coming off the back of an unsuccessful Fast Track Cash in from February’s Back With A Bang show.
Can the “Magnificent One” overcome the Monster?
Our first women’s match in 6 years will be the first match of a year long Women’s Tournament and will see Toni Storm v. Natalie Wild
Wild announced her participation in this special tournament by attacking and injuring Lana Austin, just moments after she declared her entry into the first round. T-Bone, Wild’s love interest and former boyfriend of Lana, declared that Wild would take Austin’s place in the tournament just as Wild had taken her place in T-Bone’s life.
Austin later had to withdraw from the tournament and Wild got her wish. She now enters the tournament in its first round to take on International Women’s star, Toni Storm. Storm has competed all over the World but can she stop Natalie Wild from progressing any further?
It’s friend v friend when the British Title goes on the line when Joey Hayes v. Jimmy Jackson
The title goes on the line between two friends! After realising Joey Hayes aided Jumpin’ Jimmy’s title defence against Cyanide, Jackson has granted Joey a shot at the British Title on March 24th. Saying: “I had no idea what happened after Cyanide had cashed in. I didn’t know Joey was even still at ringside, but i’m thankful for what he did for me, and if anyone deserves a shot at this title, it’s him.”
Jackson has been described as one of the luckiest GPW champions in history, but is so far undefeated since becoming champion on September 23rd 2016. Joey, who has held the British Championship before has not held a title in his home promotion for nearly 10 years. Could this be the turn in the tide for the beloved Joey Hayes? Or will close friend, Jimmy Jackson retain again?
Midnight Bin Collection return in a huge Six Man tag featuring The Bad Lads and Big Joe!
After a spending spree that has lasted nearly 5 months, the former Tag Team Champions, The Midnight Bin Collection return to Grand Pro Wrestling after spending all The Sheik’s Money to join forces with former British and Heavyweight Champion, Bubblegum to take on a fearsome trio!
Another team who have held the Tag Team Trophy, The Bad Lads bring their latest recruit Big Joe back to the Ballroom on March 24th to help them take on stat studded opposition. What Big Joe lacks in size (ssshh, don’t tell him) he more than makes up for in aggression and of course, has both Micky Barnes and Drill to back him up. It was Joe who got the win with his “Ten Tonne Bomb” at Back With A Bang, can he do it again, or can the hugely popular team of Bubblegum, Bin Man and Jet Fashion leave with the win?
The Sheik’s Second Investment revealed in a match v. Martin Kirby
Sheik Muhammed Rizzy Khan has set his former tag team partner, Martin Kirby a series of punishments after he blames Kirby for losing his entire fortune at the end of last year. He claimed that prior to losing his fortune, he had made a series of investments should the worst happen.
The worst did happen and Khan revealed his first investment at Back With A Bang to be Nick Maguire. However, it was embarrassment for Khan when Kirby defeated Maguire. Khan was determined to get the last laugh when he beat Kirby with his flip flop and screamed he had another investment to reveal.
Who will it be? Can Kirby win again?
